gerrard didnt have a good game. i think in total honesty the pitch had an effect on his,
but nobody can blame the artificial turf at all. they have been playing in england on it for a while at a school, training there, as it is a exact replica. and russia haven't played there much at all.
richard is a bad man, always performs. and phillips did alrite, his crossing was below par. but i think that is more the fact that, there isnt the big man upfront, so alot are aimed to feet on the floor.

don't think it's true, I can't see what advantage that will bring to the team? scholes is one of the best players the premier league has seen but he isn't the scholes of old who will get into the box and at the end of crosses on a regular basis anymoe, he can still pass the ball around and control the tempo but I can't see him fitting into the england set up right now.
he did himself good by retiring because it has helped him keep up the level of play imo.

England just don't have th quality to contest with the best in the world. The players are not good enough...
When you look at teams like Italy, Brazil, Argentina even Holland, France and Portugal, these teams have several world class players in their team.
You look at England and you can say 1 or 2 world class players. These possibly include Gerrard and Terry.
Thats why England will not win the world cup in the next decade. The players are just not good enough. They can just about pass to eachother.
However, Capello is a op coach just like sven. You can' blame the managers, its the team and england just not being good enough.
