has any one seen the movie yet?

what do you think about the subject matter of the film?

a young Bangali gurl trapped in a loveless arranged marriage to a much older guy, comes to the UK to live in the Brick Lane area (East London)...then she falls for another guy outside marriage..... the story of the struggle with life...society...religion seen from the point of view of the Bangali girl......

Yeh i mentioned this film in my 'Cinema Viewings' thread...its got a good story behind it...mite go watch it this weekend...

I saw this film on DVD the other nite....

I think it was immoral to portray a married bangali woman with kids having a sexual affair with another man....thumbsdwn

The movie was very disappointing, they certainly did the book no justice wahtsoever, the content of which was alot more controversial.
