Its a place of Pilgrimage not a place 2 go for a shopping spree..Thats totally wrong..Jus goes 2 show what extent people would go 2 jus to get to Islam..

I sense a grim future for pilgrims and Saudi Arabia.. I mean the 2 holy places knocks sense back into a sinner.. and for some becomes a turning point in life to be better etcetc.. okay when i went back in the day there were bazaar's and hotels so it wasn't that bad.. but as the guy said makin saudi like las vegas.. people will forget why they come to saudi in the first place and chill else where.. not good!

actually the Harram Sharief is maintained by the profits from Bin Dawood. Which is Owned by the Bin Laden Family they get no profits from bin dawood as they give it to maintain the Masjid.. so techinicali the government arent making any money..
However if ur going say starbucks is the biggest funder to Israeli army so are most of the western shops like M&S Asda Tescos etc etc...

Im very sceptical about this whole thing...I dont fink its gna happen. Tourist place? No they cant do that...thats just plain stupidity. Not very likely to attract 'tourists' as its a holy place and muslims are only allowed, who usually only go for the pilgrimage and not to 'tour' the city.

damn........last time i went 4 hajj i think i shopped more then spent time worshipping in haram shareef because there are already many shps and bin dawoods there........if they do make the aforemnetioned, ppl will be shopping more more then worshipping.....
btw, only muslims are allowed to enter makkah so why are they calling it a tourist place when tourist includes all.....
