    Default natrual disaster in uk?

Do you think its possible that a large scale natrual calamity befall on the motherland.
We all heared of the recent events of a mini quake in the yorkshire lands and a tornado years ago in birmingham.

Volcano is out the question but a quake or a flood?
Perrsonally i dont think britains prepared to handle a crisis situation nor average families.

    Whats your views...

well i think the uk would be up shit creek if it were to happen.

i mean look at the state its in now.

when it snows the roads are closed cos its iced up, when it rains the roads are closed cos it floods and when its hot the roads are closed cos they melt. i mean how the fuk is this country gonna cope with a quake or volcano!

then again the possibility of a high magnitude quake is VERY rare as the uk is no where near the edge of the tectonic plate it sits on (eurasian one i think it was). for the quake to happen the country would have to be sitting on the edge of a plate or close to hit.

it may possibly happen in the future, but i don't think no where in our lifetime, our kids, our grand kids or even great grandkids and so on.

yeah the uk is slowly moving north on its plate but at a snails pace. maybe in a thousand years lol.

same goes for the volcano as to have a volcano the country would have to be on the edge of a plate or close to it.

as rob said above, tis country hasn't in the past and isn't even doing much about the severe weather conditions within the UK at the moment and have a hard time with just a few inches of snow (ok a few feet up north) but the calamities we are talking about are dramatically bigger and a lot more dangerous than a few feet of snow all over the place.

We will all be screwed if anyhing was to go wrong, the UK just isn't prepared for anything like this at all..

I don't think the UK will be ready for the any form of bad snow storms to come either...

OMG De Ja Vu, No! it's INCEPTION!!!

It's getting worse, we had a national earthquake alert last year didn't we? where everyone felt it a bit. This year a stronger one in a certain area, it'll get stronger etc. and I don't think the UK can cope with it if it did happen but there would be help and aid, just not much for the people who will lose homes and the rebuilding etc.

The U.K can't even handle snow. Never mind something like a devestating earthquake!
